Danbury, CT – The ECAC has proudly crowned University at Albany as the recipient of its Fall 2021 ECAC Esports Commissioner’s Cup Award Presented by Lenovo Legion. The award goes to the ECAC Esports member university whose esports program achieved the most broad-based success across all games in which the ECAC sponsored competition. ECAC Esports is conducted in conjunction with CSMG and powered by LeagueSpot.

UAlbany’s esports program consists of over 140 students, one of the largest in the ECAC. The Great Dane’s were #1 in most checked-in and wins across all 105 members in the Fall. They completed 109 matches, only had 11 forfeits, and a total of 65 wins. UAlbany had teams battling in the playoffs for: Madden, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Rocket League, FIFA, Super Smash, Fortnite, placed 2nd in VALORANT, and edged out Muskingum University for the ECAC Esports Rainbow Six Championship Title.

ECAC Esports spring competition has kicked off with 20 different league titles on the line for the season. The action is streamed live Monday – Wednesday each week at 8PM ET on twitch.tv/ecac_esports.
