Danbury, CT — The ECAC is thrilled to announce that the first-ever ECAC Esports Alumni event will take place the weekend of August 21st & 22nd, featuring online competition in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This event marks the ECAC’s foray into competition involving alumni teams from ECAC member schools, which will eventually include additional leagues and tournaments, where ECAC gamers can continue to represent their universities long after graduation.
This inaugural alumni showcase is the culmination of years of thought and consideration, following discussions with ECAC Esports graduates, as well as feedback from alumni offices at ECAC member schools. The ECAC, with its nearly ninety years of experience hosting intercollegiate competition, and its national esports footprint numbering over 100 schools and 3,000 participants, is uniquely qualified to be spearheading this new endeavor.
