DANBURY, CONN. – The ECAC is proud to award Johnson & Wales University with the ECAC Esports Commissioner’s Cup for the Spring of 2021, presented by Lenovo Legion. The Commissioner’s Cup is given to the ECAC Esports member school that has the most outstanding performance across all games sponsored by the ECAC.

In the Spring of 2021, Johnson & Wales fielded teams in all ten ECAC titles and made the playoffs in each – with two teams advancing in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Their across-the-board success included second place finishes in League of Legends and Overwatch, and fourth place finishes in Hearthstone and NBA 2K21. Additionally, competitors from Johnson & Wales earned the ECAC Player of the Week award 19 times. Their Overwatch team advanced to the Collegiate Esports National Championship (CENC).

“It’s been a fantastic three years working closely with the ECAC and our school continues to improve in both the spirit and growth of the competition,” said Aaron Colaiacomo, JWU Esports Coordinator. “Our students are always excited at the beginning of the season and sad to see it end. Our students were excited to hear their hard work has been recognized with this award. Here’s to several more seasons with the ECAC and several more championships.”
