DANBURY, Conn. – The Marist College Red Foxes claim the inaugural Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) League of Legends eSports title after defeating the Drew University Rangers.

This is the first virtual tournament hosted by the Conference where eight teams squared off for three days of gaming. The championship match was streamed live via Twitch and Stevenson University came in third place after topping St. Peter’s College. SUNY Canton, Canisius College and Mansfield University were among the other institutions that competed.

Marist is now 2-2 in ECAC eSports competition as the Red Foxes claimed the title of the live ECAC eSports Exhibition in March, hosted in conjunction with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

The ECAC began offering eSports competitions this spring and will continue to expand opportunities for students across Divisions I, II and III with additional virtual and live tournaments planned for the 2018-19 academic year.
